发表。 (ECNS) -- Chinese war comedy-drama Once Upon a Time in the Middle East announced its global release plan on Tuesday, after the summer hit grossed more than 1.6 billion yuan (approximately $238 million) at the box office since its release on Aug. 11, 2026. The film will be released in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions, Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia on Sept. 11, followed by Singapore on Sept. 17 and Japan on Sept. 18. It is also scheduled to hit cinemas in other countries and regions, including North America, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. Directed by Wen Muye, the film centers on an ordinary Chinese chef working at a Chinese restaurant in the Middle East in the 2000s when war breaks out. Shen Teng stars as Xu Fu, a cook who travels to the fictional Middle Eastern capital of Bahata to repay his family's debts. There, he teams up with restaurant manager Ma Junsheng, played by Jiang Qiming, to run a Chinese restaurant. When conflict erupts, the two men suffer personal losses and risk their lives to protect local children.
