另据俄联邦委员会（议会上院）12日晚在社交媒体上发布的消息，普京提名谢尔盖·拉夫罗夫留任外交部长、谢尔盖·纳雷什金留任对外情报局局长、亚历山大·库连科夫留任紧急情况部长、弗拉基米尔·科洛科利采夫留任内务部长、康斯坦丁·崔琴科留任司法部长、亚历山大·博尔特尼科夫留任联邦安全局局长，维克托·佐洛托夫留任国民警卫队总司令。此外，瓦列里·格拉西莫夫仍留任武装力量总参谋长职务。

俄总统新闻秘书佩斯科夫表示，绍伊古将负责管理俄罗斯联邦军事技术合作局的相关事务，同时他还将担任俄军工委员会副主席。

据塔斯社报道，俄联邦委员会需在一周内对相关提名进行审议并向普京汇报审议结果。

2012年11月6日，俄罗斯总统普京任命他为国防部长。在被任命为国防部长的同时，绍伊古以大将军衔重返军队服役。
